more washi love

This week I introduced my students to washi tape!  The first day we made these awesome washi pens from candlelitlife.com!  The kids LOVED them and were anxious to washi more!

Next we made paperclip/washi bookmarks.  So simple, so darn cute!!

Today the kids had to bring something in to washi and we went through A LOT of washi tape this morning!
Next week I'm showing the kids the magic of Mod Podge!  We're going to make Jack-O-Lantern Jars!

I was reading a blog that I follow and she shared a placemat craft that she did with her kiddos...super cute!!  She used white vinyl, sharpies and colored ducktape to make kid art placemats for a gift!  Love it!!  Click {here} to see what she did!

washi

I've mentioned before my obsession with washi tape.
I recently learned I'll be teaching a section of Sewing & Crafting to all the 6th graders this year.  I thought the first project should use washi tape because, let's face it, washi tape is the bee's knees!!
So I got onto Downtown Tape and started picking out fun designs.  Not only is each roll only $1.99 (which is nice b/c most supplies are out of pocket at this time), but shipping is only $2.95 no matter what size your order is!  AND it ships with in 2-3 days!!
My order came quickly and also included a free gift....a little package of tags!
I can't wait to show my kids how amazing washi tape is next week!!!

obsessed!

This summer I picked up my first roll of Washi tape by Smash.

I held on to it all summer, intending to use it in my classroom {that is black & white with pops of other colors}.  Little did I know that I would fall so deeply in love with Washi tape!!!

I've put it everywhere!  Around the rim of my water cup...
on all of my magnetic clips...
 on my daily schedule display...
and there are more!  I put it on all of my binder clips {so if anyone takes them, I'll know their mine!} and on the handle of my scissors for the same reason!  My coworkers are probably tired of hearing me talk about Washi tape and we've only been back two days!!
I have picked out so many more patterns & colors at Downtown Tape!
The possibilities are endless!
