{grandparent's day}

My and Lil Man's school celebrates Grandparent's Day on the same night as Open House. I've been in the habit of giving the grands photos or photo collages. This year, I had each kiddo tell me something that made each grand "the best"....very cute & very insightful!!I wrote on black paper with white chalk & had each kiddo sign their name.

I think they turned out super cute!!

Jumbo Crayon Holder

I made my almost 2 year old nephews crayon holders for part of their Easter gifts! I love how they turned out!

Here's what you'll need:

a. 5 x 8.5" outside fabric

b. 5 x 8.5" inside fabric

c. 6 x 8.5" pocket fabric

d. 5 x 8.5" fusible interfacing

e. 17" ribbon
Here's what you do: 1. Fold your pocket piece {c.} in half hotdog style aka length-wise and press. 2. While you're iron is on, press the fusible interfacing {d.} to the inside piece {b.} 3. Pin the inside piece {b.} to the pocket piece {c}. Line up the open edge of the pocket piece {c.} to a long edge of the inside piece {b.}. 4. Measure in 1.25" from the edge and mark a straight line up & down the pocket piece {as shown below}. Measure in 1" and mark again....all the way to the end of your fabric. You'll have 1.25" left at the other end. {see below} 5. Stitch on the lines you marked, backstitching where the pocket meets the inside fabric. 6. Pin the outside fabric piece {a.} right sides facing to the pocket/inside piece. Make sure to pin your ribbon on one of the short ends and tuck inside. Stitch on both long sides and one short side {the side with your ribbon}. Leave one short side open for turning. Use a 5/8" seam allowance.
7. Turn the holder right side out. Fold under the open end and stitch shut.
8. Ta-da!! Insert a package of 8 jumbo crayons and roll up. Use the ribbon to tie shut.
I wish I would have thought about these when my kids were smaller!!

Custom Gift Card Holders

These were ordered for cheer/gymnastics coaches! I love using the teams colors for the holder! These would make great end of the year teacher gifts, using school colors!!

Baby Love!

I have two nephews and two nieces at the moment....and in March, I'll have another lil niece to love!! I was invited to a "sprinkle" that her friends are throwing for my sister-in-law, so I thought it was a perfect time to use the "Baby Set" project from my 101 One-Yard Wonders book!! The set was supposed to include a bib, taggie, booties and bag, but I just made the bib and taggie...for now at least!!
I found the cutest pink/brown fabric at JoAnn's called Nuovo Pattern Dot in Pink & Brown to use for one side and the other side is light pink jersey knit...super soft!
LOVE!!

I hope J & lil baby M love it as much as I do!!

Great Gift

I am not a cook, and never have been! But I love when I receive these mixes as gifts! My sister-in-law has started giving these to all of us for Christmas and I also get one or two from my students each year...I LOVE them! N and I had a blast making "Oatmeal M&M Bars" on our first day of Christmas Break!
